Who Is Right In the Evolution Debate?

Many youth in the LDS church become confused when they see the living prophets and the scriptures constantly talk about Adam and Eve being created by the hand of God; while at the same time they hear in their science classes and from television that Adam and Eve never existed and that modern humans evolved from a "first living cell" which existed hundreds of millions of years ago.

So who is right?

As the free eBook on this website will show, the theory of evolution is scientific nonsense and exists only in the imaginations of those scientists who wish it were true.

Actual scientific data from real human DNA completely support the claims of the scriptures and the prophets that human DNA could NOT have existed on this earth more than a few thousand years ago and it is absurd to think that our DNA "evolved" from animals which lived hundreds of millions of years ago. The truth is our DNA constantly deteriorates over time; it does not get better over time. This scientific fact even has a name: "genetic entropy" or "devolution."

"Genetic entropy" is a scientific fact, yet the theory of evolution claims that totally random events created many millions of new genes which had massively sophisticated sequences. Nowhere in all of science have totally random events been claimed to create massive sophistication and intelligence. Yet, evolution claims it has happened tens of millions of times within the timeframe of only a few billion years. This is nonsense!!

In fact, a mathematical analysis of how the theory of evolution had to have happened (at the DNA level) will demonstrate that the theory of evolution could not have happened on this planet or on any other planet. The scientific facts are exactly the opposite of the claims of the theory of evolution.

Scientists today defend the theory of evolution by using 19th century unscientific, descriptive morphology, combined with their vivid imaginations and clever deceptions. These scientists completely refuse to consider the 21st century highly technical science of mathematical and statistical DNA analysis.

When scientists do mention DNA they make no attempt to explain how the theory of evolution overcame the insane probabilities it had to deal with.

This website contains a free, 407 page eBook called "Prophets or Evolution - An LDS Perspective," which:
1) Compares LDS doctrines to the theory of evolution (chapters 1-12),
2) Details the massive scientific problems with the theory of evolution (chapters 13-36).

The book will be linked to below, in both "html" and "pdf" formats, after a discussion of official LDS documents on evolution.

The Position of the LDS Church on Evolution

Some people assume the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Latter-Day Saint or LDS church) is neutral on the subject of the theory of evolution. Nothing could be further from the truth.

The first official publication of the LDS church regarding the theory of evolution was the Book of Mormon, which is a history of the people of the Americas between the time of the Tower of Babel and about 400 years after Christ. The Book of Mormon was first published in 1830.

One of the main characters in the Book of Mormon was the anti-Christ Korihor (Alma 30). While the main book on this website covers the fact that Korihor taught the theory of evolution (Note: the Book of Mormon was published 29 years before the Origin of Species of Darwin), a special article has been written specifically to focus on a comparison of the teachings of Korihor to the teachings of Darwin's theory of evolution.

This article demonstrates very forcefully that the teachings of Korihor and the teachings of the theory of evolution are identical, even though the Book of Mormon was published long before Darwin's most famous book. The purpose of this short article, which is largely redundant with the first few chapter of the book on this website, is to focus on how the Book of Mormon considers the theory of evolution to be anti-Christ:

The next official document regarding the theory of evolution was published in 1909. This was a First Presidency message. To read the official statement of the LDS church on the subject of the theory of evolution, the 1909 statement of the First Presidency, called "The Origin of Man," can be found on this web page:
Statement: "The Origin of Man" (Official 1909 First Presidency Statement)

In addition to the 1909 article, an official booklet issued by the First Presidency in 2004: True to the Faith - A Gospel Reference, while not specifically about evolution, describes church doctrines which are the very antithesis of the doctrines of the theory of evolution (e.g. See topics: Atonement of Jesus Christ; Creation; Fall; God the Father; etc.). About The "Prophets or Evolution" Book

The free, 407 page eBook on this website, Prophets or Evolution - An LDS Perspective, actually covers two very diverse topics.

The first twelve chapters provide a comparison of the teachings of the LDS church to the theory of evolution. This section is essentially a comparison of the doctrines of the LDS Church and the religious ramifications of the theory of evolution.

The second section of this book (which starts with Chapter 13) is much longer than the first section and deals with the scientific issues of the theory of evolution, with an occasional mention of LDS doctrine.

The scientific section makes no excuses for the theory of evolution and instead calls the theory of evolution: "scientific nonsense." Indeed, the concepts of "permutations of nucleotides," "genetic entropy," "patterns of intelligence" and "genetic chaos," all of which will be explained in detail, plus several other critical issues with regards to the scientific issues of the theory of evolution, completely render the theory of evolution as scientific nonsense.
